Workshops & Training

Sexual abuse workshops and training

If you are an education provider or an individual/body responsible for young people, it is your duty to ensure your staff respond accordingly and appropriately to any suspicions or accusations of sexual abuse. You will find our workshops to be extremely useful tools in meeting your obligations.

Workshops & training

We provide specialist training and workshops to schools and professionals in East Kent on all issues surrounding sexual violence and coercion.

Our workshops in schools focus on three main areas: raising awareness, safety & support and challenging myths. We talk about statistics surrounding childhood sexual abuse and rape and encourage discussions around the myths and facts. We discuss the consequences of sexting, sharing photos across social media and meeting up face to face to enable young people to socialise more safely.

The training we offer is designed for police and other professionals. The training involves information about our services and what we can do to support clients, as well as sharing best practice to enable professionals to support their clients better. We explore ways that our services can work together to benefit everyone involved.
East Kent Rape Crisis Centre is in a position to work with educational bodies in the Canterbury, Ashford, Ramsgate and Folkestone areas, as well as in the many neighbouring locations. If you would like to donate or raise funds for us, click here to find out how you can do so.
